Pastor’s Class

Pastor James Amend leads an education hour on church history to see how the American Baptist Church came to be through the various denominational splits throughout history, and the history of Southside Church.

Children’s Church

Volunteers under the direction of Bradley Lemmon facilitate an faith-based educational program for children. Childrens Church begins after our second worship song before Pastor Jim begins delivering his message in the main sanctuary.

Southside Church Ministries

His Loving Care

How do we care for our loved ones who may find it difficult to care for themselves? Our His Loving Care ministry provides free adult incontinence products, with dignity and discretion, to those under palliative and hospice care, free of charge.

Products are distributed on a first-come-first-serve basis and are subject to availability and dependent on donations from the community. A maximum of 1 box per patient per week is allowed. Only the client, the client’s family member, or an adult representative of the client may pick up supplies.

This service is run by volunteers with limited hours. Packages can be picked up each Tuesday from 9:00 am to 11:00am here at Southside Church (517 Jadwin Avenue in Richland). Upon your initial visit, you will be asked to fill out a short intake form. This information is strictly for Southside Church office purposes and will never be shared with anyone.

Donations may be dropped off during these hours as well. We accept the following items:

  • Any size and brand of unopened adult undergarments

  • Booster/Under pads

  • Flat pads for bedding/furniture

  • Wipes

Donations are also accepted at the Tri-Cities Chaplaincy office located at 1480 Fowler Street in Richland (please place all donations in the drop box located in the vestibule) from 8:00am - 4:30pm Monday through Thursday and Friday 8:00am-12:00pm.

Donations are also accepted at the Hospice House located at 2108 West Entiat Avenue in Kennewick 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.

School Food Bags

Children are our future. Our children should not go hungry. Each week Southside Church provides 45 food bags to local elementary school children who otherwise would not have enough food for them or their families over the weekend.

Blessing Bags

Homelessness is a continuing problem in our community. Our blessing bags provide a way for our congregation to help those in need by providing food and water to those struggling that we may pass on the street.
